Gorgeous tree lined street in an upscale neighborhood. Within walking distance to numerous restaurants, churches, parks shopping and amenities. The Space: We have 2 bedrooms and a 3rd bedroom (converted office) with a fold down futon Bedroom#1 Queen - sleeps 2 Bedroom #2 Queen - sleeps 2 Bedroom #3 (converted office) - Sleeps 1 70” Samsung smart TV, with cable and wireless internet. Guest Access: The entire apartment The Neighborhood: In the early 1900s, the village developed as a streetcar suburb of Milwaukee, with public transportation allowing residents to easily commute to the city. The village's center emerged along the streetcar lines on Oakland Avenue and Atwater Road (now known as Capitol Drive). Additionally, affluent Milwaukeeans began building mansions in the eastern part of the village along Lake Drive and the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. The population grew to 1,255 by 1913, and in the 1910s municipal improvements included paved roads and sidewalks, gas mains, and street signs.[5] The Village of East Milwaukee changed its name to the Village of Shorewood in 1917. Shorewood saw significant growth in the 1920s, with the quadrupling from 2,650 residents in 1920 to 13,479 in 1930. During the decade, as many as 200 new homes were constructed per year in the village, including work by Alexander C. Eschweiler as well as Flagg-system homes constructed by Arnold F. Meyer & Co. As the village population swelled, local municipal institutions became more organized. The village's health department organized in 1918; the police department, in 1920; and the fire department, in 1929. In 1928, the village's elected board of trustees hired a full-time village manager to head the village's day-to-day operations, and Shorewood has had a council–manager government ever since. Shorewood's school district also grew in the 1920s and was influenced by the ideas of philosopher John Dewey. Getting Around: Uber/Lyft are plentiful if you do not bring a car! Other Things to Note: Before we can confirm any booking, we do need to know: 1. What brings you into town? 2. How many people will be staying at the home? 3. Do you expect any visitors, if so how many? We do not have keys or access to our mailbox. We do have Ring Cameras outside the property. Any blocking of the cameras will lead to an automatic eviction, forfeiture of security deposit, no refund and a fine. Please do not block these cameras. -RING CAMERA’S ON EXTERIOR OF HOME We may require an ID & signed Rental Agreement or a refundable deposit prior to check in. HOUSE RULES: - 11:00 pm Quiet Hours - We do NOT allow late check out. There is a charge of $25/10 min after 11AM. - Must 21+ to book - No parties/smoking in the home ($500 fine) If house rules are broken, guest forfeits their right to leave a review. - NO OUTSIDE GUESTS (all guests must be included in reservation total) unless approved by host, $100 per unauthorized guest each night). - $500 fine per night for any unauthorized pets. This listing is not pet friendly! - If a security team is called due to an infraction of the house rules, the guest agrees to pay for the security team ($500 minimum) and the duration of the reservation, even if removed by the security team due to the infraction. - Please DO NOT flush feminine products/paper towels/any foreign substance down the toilet (ONLY toilet paper). It is not good for the pipes and if there is an issue we may pass the charge onto the guest. -We do have Ring Cameras outside the property. Please do not block these cameras. - Please no burning of candles, incense, or anything else in the home. If done, this will be treated as “smoking” in our house rules. Thank you!
